Evans Velo Zone™ is designed to support performance analysis with or without dedicated velocity hardware.
The EVZ Performance Platform separates the developmental framework from the measurement tool, allowing coaches to capture meaningful performance evidence through three pathways:
Observation Mode
When performance technology is unavailable, coaches can use structured practitioner observation to evaluate performance behavior across repeated and changing demands.
Technology Mode
When objective measurement is available, EVZ can analyze supported performance metrics such as velocity, power, force, time, and other quantitative outputs to provide greater measurement precision.
Hybrid Mode
Coaches can combine objective performance data with structured observation, adding practitioner context to what the technology measures.
Regardless of the evidence source, EVZ applies the same developmental framework:
Retention → Transfer → Output → Re-attainment
The goal is not to require coaches to adopt a specific hardware ecosystem. EVZ provides a consistent framework for capturing evidence, interpreting performance behavior, supporting developmental decisions, and monitoring what
happens over time.
Different evidence. One developmental framework.
